Train at altitude

Kapto Camp sits at 2000 m (6500 ft), offering the benefits of high-altitude training and recovery. From our balcony, you can see the nearby Kaptokwoi waterfall, a serene backdrop to your runs. Our camp is nestled in a friendly neighbourhood where neighbours tend small farms growing matooke, coffee, and vegetables, and raise cattle and goats, giving you a true taste of local life as you train.

Accomodation

Our camp offers six en-suite rooms, including five twin rooms designed for athletes sharing (with single beds) and one en-suite couples room with a double bed.Athletes may choose to share a room or upgrade to a private room for an additional cost.The facility is powered by solar energy, supplying reliable electricity for lighting, hot water, device charging, television, and Wi-Fi. This ensures uninterrupted comfort despite frequent power cuts in the area, while also supporting environmentally responsible living.

Meals at Kapto Camp

Our pricing includes all meals. We serve a mix of fresh local and international dishes, alongside aromatic Arabica coffee grown right here in Kapchorwa, tea, and mineral water.Meals are served buffet-style and are designed to fuel your training while giving you a taste of Ugandan cuisine.Example day:
Breakfast (8–9am): Fresh fruit, oats, eggs, toast, tea, and coffee
Mid-morning snack (11am): Mandazi (East African donuts), tea, and coffee
Lunch (1–2pm): Roast chicken, steamed sweet potatoes, green pea sauce, and pumpkin
Dinner (7–8pm): Matooke (steamed plantain), chapati, groundnut sauce, lentil sauce, and avocado

Recover, Relax & Explore

In between training sessions, make use of our recovery facilities at the camp. Enjoy sports massages (available per session — see price list) and unwind in our wood-fired hot tub, included with your stay.Beyond the camp, we can arrange day trips to nearby Sipi Falls, where you’ll explore the waterfalls and learn about local coffee farming in one of Uganda’s most scenic regions.
